ELECTRIC Commercial Service
Commercial customers can receive electricity, chilled water and/or steam from PEI.
Starting Service
At the beginning of construction, an approved University of Illinois representative is assigned to assure that the customer will have the facilities necessary to receive service from PEI. Once a new customer is approved for utility service by the approved University of Illinois representative, the following steps must be completed to obtain commercial client utility service:
- Request a commercial service agreement from PEI by telephone at (217) 265-0855, e-mail at plandenergy@plandenergy.com, or in writing.
- Complete and return the service agreement to PEI.
- Upon receipt of the service agreement, the approved University of Illinois representative oversees initiation of service and notifies PEI of the service start date and beginning meter read.
